New Book: Adventures of a Tennessean

My name is James Carl Duncan. I am a retired Marine, and I have published a new book entitled, Adventures of a Tennessean. This book is dedicated to my father, and it contains personal stories of battles in which my father fought during the Korean War. [Special Note: Within my book there is a very interesting story involving members of the Air Force who accompanied my father behind enemy lines into China to gain intelligence, there is a very good story about the Army and their role in the battle for Wolmi Do, and there are several stories about the Marines who fought in the battles of Wolmi Do, Inchon, Wonsan, Hamnung, Chosin Reservoir, and Hungnam.] I would appreciate your thoughts and feedback on my book. Also, I am trying to locate/communicate with other Korean War Veterans to talk to them about the battles that took place at Wolmi Do, Inchon, Wonsan, Hamnung, Chosin Reservoir, and Hungnam.

You may locate my book on Amazon.com, Barnes and Noble, Books a Million. The ISBN # for my book is 978-1-4817-4157-6. My book may be located on Amazon.com at the following website: http://www.amazon.com/Adventur...ures+of+a+Tennessean.

This book is very special to me because of the length of time that it took to pull together the information and stories contained within the book and because it covers/describes the battles and operations that my father fought in/participated in during the Korean War. I had originally planned to make my book available only to my family members, but after some soul searching and thinking about it, I felt that others should know about the men who fought in the Korean War.

Dear Col. Duncan,

First of all, I warmly welcome you to our website.
At the same time I would like to express my deepest respect to your father who participated in various battles during the Korean War.
We Koreans are always grateful to the United States for its unflagging efforts brought in preserving freedom for a tiny country they knew very little in early 1950s.

I visited Amazon and read the editorial review of your book. In a word, you are not only an asset to your family but also to the United States of America. I honestly admire you and am highly honored to have an opportunity to communicate with you.
I will do my best to obtain a copy of your work through a proper channel in the near future.

In the meantime, before I get it, I would appreciate it much if you supply me a summary of your father's story( Korean War) together with photos taken during the war. The information you may furnish will be used to introduce your father's proud story to the Korean veterans. I will of course translate it in Korean.
You can also reach me via my email (jsc418@empal.com).

My hat is off to your father again.

With kind regards,

Jae

Col. Duncan,

This is exciting! Your book has the potential to fill in some of the many gaps in one of my own Marine Corps unit's history. I served with 1st ANGLICO in Vietnam. This unit was formed in 1951. But two earlier ANGLICOs with no numerical designation, except if you will the 1st MARDIV ANGLICO that detached many to the 1st Signal Bn., served in Korea. Several Silver Stars were awarded at Chosin (Jangjin), and some aging Marines say we called in NGF at Inchon. No mention of an ANGLICO team at Wolmi Do have I found in the literature and the Chosin organization shuns our old guys. I will read your book cover to cover. Thank you for contributing to Korean War history in such a significant way.
